New Prototype Nerf Blaster in the Works, the N-Strike Demolisher

Woah, just as I was about to go to bed. Prop Weapon Scoop just broke a story on a new blaster. If you haven’t heard of the site, it’s partly run by Nerfenstein, so I would say the site, image, and news are credible. The pictured above blaster is a prototype blaster called the “N-Strike Demolisher”.

According to PWS, “The Nerf Demolisher features two kinds of carnage, regular Nerf darts (10-round clip) and the addition of a ‘Mega dart’ launched from beneath (with room for one extra in the stock area).” The site also says that it’s still pretty much a prototype blaster at the moment, but that it is rumored for a Fall Release Date in the USA.

The blaster looks cool to say the least. We even get a new type of clip in the curved clip! We might get more information this week from the UK TOy Fair which starts Jan. 21. What are your initial thoughts on the blaster?

5 AM PST Update: Prop Weapon Scoop has updated their post with a rumored price point of $39.99 USD. But again that is not confirmed. I’ll reach out to my PR contact and see if we can more information overall on this blaster.

Elite Rapidstrike CS-18 goes up for Amazon Pre-Order, Could this be The Big 9/9/2013 Release?

The USA Box Art for the Rapidstrike CS-18

Thanks to a couple of my blog readers, and even a Twitter follower, for making me aware of this. today put up a pre-order and listing page for the upcoming Rapidstrike CS-18. A couple of “Amazon Vine” users (an Amazon program that allows you access to some products early, in exchange for a review) have already put up a few reviews of the blaster on the page. Product description below,

The Rapidstrike CS-18 blaster holds 18 Elite Darts
Acceleration Trigger powers up the motor for rapid firing
Fires Elite darts up to 75 feet
Clip holds 12 darts and is see-through for instant firepower checks
Elite Darts work with any N-Strike Elite blaster and most original N-Strike blasters (sold separately)

What ticks me off a bit is the release date for the blaster. September 1st, which is still Fall 2013, is when Amazon starts to ship out the blaster. I was hoping to somehow get this a bit earlier in anticipation for my Summer’s Humans vs. Zombies game. There’s a small chance I’ll get it in time for the game anyways though.

Now Hasbro/Nerf haven’t marketed any special, big, 9/9 blaster for release this year. That probably has something to do with all the product their releasing this year. From the Centurion, Rapidstrike, Revonix, to the Rebelle line, Vortex repaints, and maybe coming this year Zombiestrike line, it might not be the smartest thing to market one particular line or blaster for a special date when your other lines need some marketing attention as well.

For the past 4 years (starting back in 2009), Nerf has released special, big blasters (or in one year, the Vortex line) that have either changed the game, or been good products in themselves. Leaked Rapidstrike photos and videos have been well received by the NIC and HvZ community. With us somewhat conditioned to be on the look out for a big release in September each year, could they be using that to their advantage to help market and sell the Rapidstrike? Nerf again has a lot of scheduled Fall products coming out, so it makes sense that their trying to space out product releases. The Mega Centurion is scheduled on Amazon, Target, Walmart, and Kmart to come out August 1.

All Nerf fans can do at the moment is keep their eyes open to the net for scheduled release dates, pre-order if they want, and count the days until product comes out. At the very least, I can say that the Rapidstrike is going to be a GREAT blaster for both modders and non-modders alike.

Elite Rapidstrike CS-18, Vortex Revonix360 confirmed for Fall 2013 USA Release

I recently received the Mega Centurion in the mail from my PR contacts at Nerf, and in amongst the package was a small information pamphlet that is pictured above. Inside a couple of features, targeted release times, and prices are listed for the Elite Rapidstrike CS-18, the Mega Centurion, and the Vortex Revonix 360.

At this point, I’m just glad that the Rapidstrike is confirmed for a USA Fall release. The Rapidstrike CS-18 and Vortex Revonix360 will retail for $39.99 at most stores, while the Mega Centurion will retail for $49.99 at most stores.

Update on the Philippines Rapidstrike CS-18 situation, Apparently Released too Early

Nerf Club Philippines, the source of the above photo and the news of the Rapidstrike being released in the Philippines, recently took to Facebook to update us on the stock over there.

According to a salesperson at Toy Kingdom SM Megamall, the N-Strike Elite Rapidstrike CS-18 was not sold out two weeks ago. All units were pulled out of the shelves because someone screwed up royally and jumped the gun on the intended release date (which is currently unknown). So those who actually bought a Rapidstrike two weeks ago are the most fortunate people in Nerf fandom.

It’s Nerf or Nothin’!

I’m a bit surprised that they got their Rapidstrike stock so early. I’m not sure how the stores are working over there, perhaps they get their stock less often? Usually in America, it seems like with Walmart and Target, they get their Nerf stock about 3 weeks before a specific release date. Hopefully we see this blaster sooner then later around the world!

Nerf’s Big, Red Announcement is the Mega Centurion, New Information revealed

It’s finally officially revealed, Nerf took to Facebook this morning to announce the Mega Centurion blaster.

A 360 degree view of the Centurion

Nerf linked it’s readers to Popular Science for more photos and information on the blaster. If you’ve been following the Nerf blogs and Baidu leaks, there isn’t much new information for you. However, the article, and comments left by Nerf on their photo, gave us a few tibits of new information.

– $49.99 MSRP, Fall Release Date (via Pop Science article)
– “Nathaniel and Chuck, the Centurion blasts up to 100ft in the US and Canada and up to 23m in most other countries. You’ll definitely be blasting farther than ever before.”

Only up to about 75 feet overseas? But doesn’t the Elite series already do that for them? I don’t really see the initiative to switch then.

– “Daniel, extra MEGA darts will be available for purchase separately!”

That’s a definitively a good thing. I also don’t see why they wouldn’t sell extra mags for the blaster as well.

– “Chew, as with all our blasters, availability varies from country to country, so it may not be available in Singapore.”

Well, that’s a bit disheartening if that’s the case and it stays that way. I’m sure it’ll make it’s way over there eventually though, Singapore has a good sized Nerf community.

Nerf also keeps wording that this blaster will be released in the Fall. I also talked to my public relations contact, and their pretty much confirming that it’s NOT going to have a specific release date. I was guessing that the Centurion would be the big 9/9 released blaster, but I guess not. Does this mean that the big 9/9 blaster/line hasn’t been leaked or announced yet? Could this mean that we won’t have a special 9/9 release blaster this year? I would love to hear your opinion on this readers.
