Keri Russell & Her Family Are Into Nerf Wars

Keri Russell tells Jimmy about her son’s annual Christmas list and how vicious her toddler daughter gets during Nerf fights.

American actress was on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and during their talks about Christmas wishlists she reveal that her young children (3 & 7) are into having Nerf wars with their parents. Of course, it’s not quite as crazy or hardcore as more of us Nerfers, but it could be a start! And of course, it’s nice to hear Nerf getting some attention in the mainstream media.

Camarillo, CA Humans vs. Zombies Returns for Winter 2014/Early 2015 Game Sessions. Dec. 20, 2014 & Jan. 3, 2015

Watch a video trailer for the upcoming games above.

After a lack of the usual Summer games, Camrillo Humans vs. Zombies organizers are back with two games for the Winter 2014/Early 2015 sessions! The organizers had to relocate to an Airsoft field for last year’s Winter games, but we are back now at Mission Oaks/Mission Verde Park. If you know anything about Southern California Humans vs. Zombies games, you’ll know that there’s not a lot of colleges or schools that have them over here. Which is why the creators of this area decided to organize this game back in 2008. If your visiting and in the LA County area, why not come over to play some HvZ? If your thinking about going, we would love to have you!

There is a $10 admission fee. The proceeds will go towards the Wounded Warrior Project. We, the organizers have gotten permission from the game’s creators to charge people.

I’ll be going to Day 2/Game 2! If you want to say hi, meet up, or possibly get a squad together to play, feel free to let me know!

Where:
5501 Mission Oaks Blvd
Camarillo, CA, US
(Searching up Mission Verde Park, Camarillo CA in Google Maps will also direct you to the right place.)

When:
December 20, 2014 & January 3, 2015 (Saturdays)
(They are separate games, if you can’t make both, feel free to go to only one then.)

9 AM to around 5 PM.

What to Bring:
Layered clothing to keep warm.
Water, theres only a couple of water fountains.
Money for Lunch or your own lunch
Blasters (nothing to crazyily modded)
Darts
A good attitude
STOCK DARTS ONLY
$10 for the Entry Cost

What NOT to bring:
Banned blasters from Nerf Wars
Common sense stuff that’s way too powerful.

Camarillo is about an hour drive from Los Angeles. The drive is well worth it though. Some unique things about this game is that the mod team changes every year. Each mod brings a different outlook on game missions and objectives, which makes for a truly unique experience each game. Game time is usually from 10 am to 4 pm with a lunch break around noon. Some of the unique or different rules can be found below.

– There is no starve out period, and stun timers are shorter to make up for the day long game.

– The park has two decent sized fields on it, but the major terrain perk is that there’s a two or three mile long winding creek that is great for missions and surprise attacks.

– Only 1 safe zone.

– An additional, smaller park two blocks away that are also sometimes used for missions.

Feel free to leave any questions here or on the Facebook event page.

Blastersmiths UK & BlasterTECH Partner Up For Australian, Asian, & Pacific Distribution

In a recent press release from Blastersmiths UK, they’ve announced that they’ll be teaming up with BlasterTECH in Australia to help distribute the Blastersmiths UK products and items easier and quicker to Australian, Asian, and Pacific Nerfers! Blastersmiths UK is known for their popular items such as the MKIV Drop Leg Holster and their Custom Fabric Nerf Mag Holders.

Check the press release below for more in-depth info. You can expect to start ordering from BlasterTECH November 1st.

Bristol, United Kingdom & Brisbane, Australia

Blastersmiths UK and BlasterTECH today announced a working partnership that they hope
will be benecial to both companies. BlasterTECH is an emergent wiring loom and electrical
modication company based in Brisbane, Australia. They have recently started selling wiring
looms through their website, BlasterTECH.com.au with the aim of lowering the threshold to
entry for the average Nerf modder. Blastersmiths UK already sells an array of un-soldered kits
and 3D printed parts so a trading partnership seemed like the natural step forward for the two
companies.

The two companies first encountered one another through BritNerf.co.uk, the UK’s primary
Nerf forum. Mike, from Blastersmiths UK, and Dean, from BlasterTECH, got chatting around
electrical modication and the potential of selling modied blasters. Regrettably, the regulatory
environments in both the EU and Australia prevent the sale of fully modied blasters on their
own at the commercial level but kits and pre-soldered looms can be sold in the EU and Australia
respectively. BlasterTECH moved forwards with their wiring looms and accepted the oer of
distributor in order to resell 3D printed components and some tactical gear in order to fund
future development.

Australian customers can purchase BlasterTECH wiring looms direct from their website
(www.blastertech.com.au) with immediate effect and from the 1st November 2014 will be able
to access a wider array of Blastersmiths UK products without the risks of international shipping
or the wait that comes with lead times for custom made goods. All Blastersmiths UK products
listed on BlasterTECH.com.au will be available in stock for immediate dispatch in accordance
with BlasterTECH shipping policies.

Looking to the future, the two companies are looking to work closely on further developing kits
and looms for the full range of electronic foam dart blasters, including Nerf’s Elite Demolisher
2-in-1. There is a great deal of untapped potential in the many electronic blasters out there
and the two companies are looking forward to tapping that and bringing new products to the
foam dart blaster marketplace.

Black-Tactical’s Limited Edition Metal Mags/Clips For Nerf Blasters

blacktacticalmetalmag

If your not familiar with Black-Tactical, it’s a tactical gear site based in Singapore. They sell a good variety of high quality tactical gear, including accessories, scopes, sights, stocks, and even Nerf equipment. Which includes blaster kits, springs, epoxy, and more.

One of their latest releases are Metal Mags/Clips for our Nerf blasters. They call it the Aureus Alpha, or “The Golden One”. Check out their details and some of my thoughts on them below.

Version 2.0: Its the same high quality build, now mass produced cheaper!

After intensive R&D, Black-Tactical.com presents the Aureus Alpha, “The Golden One”. A Limited Edition Custom Made Metal Magazine Machined to fit Standard NERF Sockets for Professional NERFers.

Problem:
Arseholes stepping on your plastic mags and breaking them
Standard 6 Round Mags too little ammo
Extended 18 Round Mags are too long and cannot fit any known pouches and cumbersome to handle

Solution:
Metal Machined Body for Crush Resistance
Fits 12 Standard NERF Streamline or Ferdelance Darts
Fits All Standard STANAG M4/M16 or AK47 7.62 Magazine Pouches.
Orange/Gold Safety Colour to conform to most country’s import laws.
100% Anodized inside and out to protect against wear resistance and alu oxidization.
Metal Breach modified guns will benefit from more precise engineering with little or NO movement play when loaded in the magazine well. Allowing more efficient and precise round Feeding & Chambering and thus more accuracy.

Alpha Trooper:
Problem with the stupid Alpha trooper catch is that it is bigger than every other catch, so we favored machining it so that it will fit ALL OTHER magazine wells PERFECTLY with little or no movement play. HOWEVER a nail file on this stupid fat alpha catch solves the problem within seconds.

Thank You:
As part of the NERF community, Black-Tactical.com thank you for your continued support to create more Professional Accessories! For those who understand manufacturing would know that it cost a lot to create this. We are already pricing it as low as we can afford to already, so please buy more!

Basic Nerf Sept. 15, 2013 Church War Gameplay Videos

Back in September 2013, I had posted on Instagram with the above photo and teased that I would be hosting a Nerf War at that new church location. And today, I’ve finally uploaded and complied the gameplay videos for you all to watch on the blog. Check the rest of the post for a description on the rules and some of the things going on in the videos. I use the Rapidstrike CS-18 as my primary for all these games.

Introducing NarrowBase LLC, a New Nerf 3D Fan Printing Company

The header image used on the NarrowBase.com site.

The need of holding 18 or even 12 dart mag holders has been a bit challenge to many Nerfers out there, due to their size and length. Equipment from other sports such as Airsoft and Paintball, while often doing the job, sometimes makings a person uncomfortable or leaves a person lacking in performance. 3D printing, with rising usage in the world, has yet to meet our needs carrying our Nerf mags/clips. Casual users or people not using the MOLLE sytstem were a bit behind in terms of what gear they could use for their items. Until now.

Armageddon XV (15), The Biggest West Coast NIC War, Is Scheduled for June 21, 2014

Music Video Recap for Armageddon 14 (2013)

In case my Southern California readers weren’t aware of this, the biggest (or arguably biggest) Nerf War on the NIC Modding Community is coming up this Saturday, June 21 2014. This has been a long time tradition (we’re on number 15 now!) with usually someone SCUN related hosting them.

This year it’s a bit special, we have Langley (one of the Nerf Haven Forum Creators) flying in from New Jersey to host and play! We also have people coming in from the Arizone, Utah, and San Francisco areas.

In case your not familiar with what the NIC is, it stands for Nerf Internet Community. While the internet has connected and help popularize “mainstream Nerfing” (Nerf with clip/mag fed blasters, Nerf blasters being modded and used for Wars) the term NIC within the NIC usually stands for blasters exhibiting higher power. Blasters and darts are often homemade. What rate of fire and ammo capacity is a little behind most Elite blasters, they make up for in range and accuracy.

I’ve been playing Nerf for about 5 years now, but I’ve never been to an Armageddon event. This year, I plan on changing that! I want to get better as a player, an event organizer, and experience a little different side of Nerf. Feel free to come and play Nerf, say hi to me and other Nerfers, and generally have a good time. I’ll be the guy wearing a panda hat and something panda related. 32 different people have marked themselves down as going on the Nerf Haven Forum topic, and some people are even bringing or inviting more.

To check out rules and what you need to bring, and see who’s marked themselves down as going, look at the rest on the post below or read here.

You can view the weather forecast for that day right here.

For a few videos of past events, check out SCUN’s Youtube channel.

Keep an eye out on my blog and Youtube channel for my loadout video and what I plan on bringing to the event.
