Basic Nerf Sept. 15, 2013 Church War Gameplay Videos

Back in September 2013, I had posted on Instagram with the above photo and teased that I would be hosting a Nerf War at that new church location. And today, I’ve finally uploaded and complied the gameplay videos for you all to watch on the blog. Check the rest of the post for a description on the rules and some of the things going on in the videos. I use the Rapidstrike CS-18 as my primary for all these games.

Basic Nerf’s Indoor/Outdoor Church War Videos (6/23/13)

Indoor/Outdoor Nerf War TDM – RushRushRush (Game 1) (Stryfe Masterkey Gameplay)
Game 1 from this play session. I tried some new things like a Hit Point counter and player hit indicators so that you can hopefully follow along more easier. Please leave a comment telling me what you think about these things!

I’m back to uploading Nerf War videos folks. If your familiar with my videos, you’ll see this is the same church that I’ve played in before. But it’s a little different from my previous games/videos because in these, for the first time ever, I’ve opened up some of the doors. This allows for another dimension to the game, since there’s both inside and outside.

This was my last session of games in which the Stryfe Masterkey was my main primary blaster, so look out for plenty of Rapidstrike gameplay in the future. Also, this was the day after I had received my Mega Centurion blaster sample, so look out for a bit of gameplay with it in the videos below.

I’m Back To Uploading Nerf War Game Videos, But I Need Your Input

Indoor/Outdoor Nerf War TDM – RushRushRush (Game 1) (Stryfe Masterkey Gameplay)

Well I’m back uploading Nerf War videos on my Youtube channel now, and I’m trying new things in order for my viewers to follow along more easily. I’ve included Hit Markers/Indicators, which pop up on screen and let you know when I hit a player. They look a little something like the image below.

vlcsnap-2014-02-07-11h36m49s34

Also as you can see in the top left corner, I’ve included my own Hit Point counter to let you know how many hits I’ve taken, and how many I have left until I’m out. In games like Team Deathmatch, or games where it takes you multiple hits to get out, keeping track of your hits is an important thing. In the video below, the only change I’ve made is that the hit point/life counter only appears when I take a hit.

Do you like it with the Counter always being in the video, like in the top one? Or only have it appear once I take a hit, such as in the bottom video? If you could take the time to comment on this post, or any of those two videos, it would be very much appreciated.

Also, I have more game play videos from that play session, including 2 Elite Alpha Trooper games, and a little bit of Mega Centurion game play as well.

Lancer Tactical Modular Chest Rig (RRV) Write Up Review & Video

Hey Basic Nerf readers, today is a little bit of a different review then usual. I’ll be doing a gear review on an Airsoft item that I’ve been using in my loadout for the past 7 months. Its called the Lancer Tactical Modular Chest Rig. In this review I’ll go over what the rig comes with, goes over a bit of my experiences with it in the 7 months that I’ve used it to far, and debate on whether or not the rig is worth $60. The Lancer Tactical Modular Chest Rig retails for around $60 USD, and comes with an Admin Pouch, a triple rifle magazine pouch, two general purpose pouches, and a hydration carrier.

Feel free to watch the video version of my review if your more a visual person, and less of a reader.

Airsoft or real steel people, if your here from the internet, feel free to read the review. You might learn a thing or two about the rig.

The Nerf: The Ultimate Blaster Book Write Up Review

NERF
From NERF: The Ultimate Blaster Book by Nathaniel Marunas, published by POW!

The Nerf Ultimate Blaster Book was something that’s caught my eye ever since I heard about it in May of this year. It’s written by Nathaniel Marunas, and published by POW! It’s release date was pushed back from its original October date, to a November release. Thanks to the gracious powerHouse Books, I now have a physical copy to review for you all.

Is this book really the Ultimate Blaster book? Is the book worth a purchase? Find out those things and more in my review.

The Basic Nerf N-Strike Elite Rayven CS-18 Review (Write Up)

Untitled
The box art for the Nerf N-Strike Elite Rayven CS-18

Back in late 2011/early 2012, Nerf released the N-Strike Rayven CS-18. After critical acclaim from both stock users and modders a like, it seems like it was an easy decision to bring the popular blaster into the Elite line a year later. The suggested retail price for the Rayven was $29.99 USD, while the suggested price for the Elite Rayven is $34.99 USD, about $5 more. Is this blaster worth the extra money? If I already own and like the Rayven, should I get the Elite one? I’ll answer those questions and more in this review.

If your not familar with the original Rayven and it’s features, check out my review of the original Rayven CS-18 to keep up with this one. I won’t mention to many features about the Elite Rayven, since the old Rayven has the exact same outsides and shell as the Elite one.

While on the outside the Elite Rayven only has a new (but good looking!) paint job, it has has small improvements over the original, which make a big difference in Nerf games. Keep reading to check out my Elite Rayven CS-18 review in full, complete with photos and videos showing it off in action.

The Basic Nerf 2012 Nerf War/HvZ/Melee Battle Recap Video

Well it took me a couple of months, but I finally finished my recap video! This video is made up of almost 100 percent Nerf War videos shot with a GoPro Hero2. The clips were recorded from June until December. In this video you’ll see Stampede, Rampage, Rayven, Pyragon, Snapfire 8, Hail-Fire, Alpha Trooper, Retaliator, and many more blasters being used by myself and others. You’ll also see head shots, dodging, rushing, diving, a couple of melee attacks, and a couple of funny moments. I would love to tell you more, but I feel like I’ve spoiled the video enough. Please let me know what you think of it!

Basic Nerf Tutorial: How to Make 4 Different Kinds of Jungle Magazines (Video)

So the process of making a jungle magazine is very simple. For those who don’t know, it’s basically taping or attaching two magazines together for quicker reloading and allows you to hold more ammo during games. If you already knew how to make them, hopefully this video will give you a new idea or two on how to make to make particular ones. All your going to need is pretty much 2 18 dart mags, duct tape, and a 6 dart mag for a certain type of jungle mag.

Are there any types from this video that you haven’t seen yet? Do you use jungle mags during games and HvZ? Why or why not? Leave a comment and share your thoughts por favor!
