New Nerf Zombie Strike Longshot Spotted Online! Looks to be Target Exclusive

The Box art for the upcoming Zombie Strike Longshot

A bit of crazy news has hit the internet very recently! Thanks to a member of my Nerf Facebook group named Ricky, and the UK/German sites S Myth Toys and IE Toys (same retailer) we have a first look at the upcoming Zombie Strike Longshot blaster! Product description can be found below. It will come with 12 darts, a 12 dart mag, and what looks to be the usual scope it came with back when it was released back around 2006/2007.

If you would rather listen to the details instead of reading them, you can watch/listen to my video below.

PRODUCT DETAILS
The zombie threat is growing bigger every day, and you need a bigger blaster to keep up! The Longshot CS-12 blaster holds 12 Zombie Strike Darts and has a long-range targeting scope so you can aim with precision to take the zombies out. Load up fast with the Quick Reload clip, press the trigger and sweep the field in the battle against the zombies with the Longshot CS-12 blaster!

How looking at the blaster images and box art, there appear to be a few changes with the blaster. First, neither the box nor the description make any range claims. I’m hoping we can at least get this blaster firing Elite Ranges. I would expect Nerf to updated the internals of this blaster since Elite Ranges are the new standard. Also the bipod seems to have been removed from the front. I’m personally digging the dark turquoise colors as well.

Also as you can see from the image below, it looks like it will be a Target Exclusive when it hits the states, and is possibly other parts of the world. While people might think that it’s make, the amount of work needed to edit/doctor the image would be a big on the hard side. Also the original art of the guy on the box makes helps make me think that this is indeed real.

I’ll be sure to keep you updated as more news of this blaster is revealed!

You Have Another Chance to Buy An Elite Pinpoint Sight

20130422_220756
A photo I took of some Elite Pinpoint Sights

The Nerf Pinpoint Sight (both it’s older Yellow and newer Elite Blue) have been popular in the Nerf Community. Back in May 2013, New Zealand had a promotion run and some Nerf people there sold them to the world. Singapore also had promotions of this item a few times, but they usually run out quick. A merchant on AliExpress has them for sale for the price of $34.00 USD. The shipping price is also included in that already. Before you get too excited about it, I HIGHLY advise that you read this review left on Trustpilot.com by a Jacob S.

The link to buy the Sight will be after the review below. It’s also unclear on the site as to how many of these sights as for sale. So if you want one, I recommend buying one sooner then later.

N-Strike Maverick REV-6 Again Makes An Appearance, Sports New Elite Colors

In the words of the movie Sandlot, “Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.” And this seems to be the case with the Nerf N-Strike Maverick REV-6.

As you can see from the photo above and below, the Maverick has once again gotten a repaint to match the new Orange Elite Paint Scheme. Both photos are from Facebook, with the top one being posted by a Singapore user on the Nerf Modders Welcome Facebook Group. The bottom photo was also posted on the group, but it is from a Walgreens in Honolulu, Hawaii and features a $17.49 price tag.

Below is the Whiteout Maverick for comparison. The “Elite Maverick” features a more darker handle, white instead of grey for the handle/grip area, and it lacks the strips and decorative lines featured on the Whiteout Maverick.

Have any of you outside of the Singapore or Hawaii area seen these in stores yet? Will you pick yourself up one, or is this a pass for you? Feel free to share your thoughts!

New Prototype Nerf Blaster in the Works, the N-Strike Demolisher

nerf-demolisher-n-strike-blaster

Woah, just as I was about to go to bed. Prop Weapon Scoop just broke a story on a new blaster. If you haven’t heard of the site, it’s partly run by Nerfenstein, so I would say the site, image, and news are credible. The pictured above blaster is a prototype blaster called the “N-Strike Demolisher”.

According to PWS, “The Nerf Demolisher features two kinds of carnage, regular Nerf darts (10-round clip) and the addition of a ‘Mega dart’ launched from beneath (with room for one extra in the stock area).” The site also says that it’s still pretty much a prototype blaster at the moment, but that it is rumored for a Fall Release Date in the USA.

The blaster looks cool to say the least. We even get a new type of clip in the curved clip! We might get more information this week from the UK TOy Fair which starts Jan. 21. What are your initial thoughts on the blaster?

5 AM PST Update: Prop Weapon Scoop has updated their post with a rumored price point of $39.99 USD. But again that is not confirmed. I’ll reach out to my PR contact and see if we can more information overall on this blaster.

New Elite Havoc Vulcan is Actually a Recolored Vulcan EBF-25 with Slightly Different Belt

Photos and News Story thanks to Diaries of a Nerf Armourer

Remember that Elite Vulcan Listing I told you about last month? Well UK Blog Diaries of a Nerf Armourer managed to buy one, and it turns out our worst fears are confirmed. It’s merely a recolored Vulcan, featuring the same internals as the old Vulcan. The only changes from Nerf at the moment seem to be modifications to the belt in order to for it to take Elite Darts.

tumblr_inline_mz32wtqVgW1qjrtjj

Here’s some of their exact words and overview on the blaster.

The blaster takes 6 x D-cells as per its yellow predecessor and there are few other changes externally. The belt has only been slightly modified to take Elite darts and is a slightly lighter colour to the old belts that came with the yellow Vulcan. The green cap is here to stay, too, it would seem.

There is a slight incompatibility between old and new ammo boxes. The old yellow boxes appear to fit the new white blasters fine but vice versa there are a few changes that make backwards compatibility awkward but not impossible. This could just be this specific model, of course. :)

External functionality is roughly equivalent, the old bolt action is still there though the rate of fire is supposed to be slightly higher. Our firing videos below will show if that’s true or just confirmation bias on our part.

Now to the internals. They’re essentially identical to the old version. We have the same old under-specified switches, the same motor and the same coils. As far as we can tell, there’s no change in the plunger or the plunger volume. It isn’t really worth the extra £20 you pay while the old yellow Vulcans are still around here in the UK.

I was really hoping that the Vulcan would get better internals for better ranges, but at least this iconic blaster is making a small comeback. No word yet on whether or not other countries besides the UK will get this in stores.

Coop772’s Nerf Chat – What Is The Future of Blasters?

In this Nerf Chat, Xellah (of Nerf Haven) and I discuss where we think Nerf blasters can go from here. The Rapidstrike is the pinnacle of Nerf production (so far) and we’re curious to see how Hasbro will top it in the future.

It a very interesting chat, Coop772 and Xellah talk about how good the Stryfe and Rapidstrike are for stock Nerf games, and also discuss things like ammo limitations, rate of fire, attachments, modifying, stefans (aka homemade darts), and many other things related to those topics. It’s a nice chat, but their questions raised a few more questions, and even they weren’t able to solve them themselves.

Nerf launches “Perfect Shot” Campaign with Dude Perfect

Dude Perfect, Nerf Blaster Edition

Nerf has launched the Perfect Shot campaign with trick shot specialists Dude Perfect. The commercials feature pretty much any Nerf blaster released this fall that isn’t in their Rebelle or Zombie Strike line. My personal favorite is “The Toss Up.” Screw accuracy, just launch darts.

Elite Color Packaged Suction Darts spotted at Walmart (Photo)

20130723_141436

I ran into a bit of surprise a few days ago. While out and about a few days ago looking for the Rapidstrike, I ran into these at Walmart. They the normal suction darts, but their packaging is re branded colored with the Elite colors. The darts look like the same normal suction darts, and they felt like the same type of phone through the plastic package. Although I mostly buy Elite darts now a days, it’s nice to see that Nerf is still keeping the Suction Dart alive.
