Thanks to my contacts at Hasbro/Nerf for the news and image shots. I’m being told that these new Foam Melee items will be available to be viewed at San Diego Comic Con this year! They are made by Perpetual Play Group, which has made solid Nerf items and accessories the in not so distant past for Nerf. The “Swift Justice”, pictured above, closely resembles a knife. While the “Vigilance” below looks similar to an axe.

No information on pricing or targeted release frame yet, but keep your eyes and ears open to my site for that info in the future!

Announcing & Reviewing the New Dorm Labs Angled Foregrip

Today, I’m proud to help announce the New Dorm Labs Angled Foregrip! Dorm Labs is a USA based company that prints and sells 3D, fan made Nerf accessories. My usage of it in games and events that I’ve been to the past year has been able to help them refine this grip.

Most people’s idea of a grip if a vertical, up and down attachment of some sort. But some people, myself included, have found that holding the vertical grip at an angle (instead of up and down) is more comfortable. To take advantage of this natural body chemistry for people, firearms companies have made grips that attach at an angle. The grip attaches with two tabs, while four screws are used to secure & clamp them down here the Nerf tactical rails. Due to it’s size, the grip will only work on the Rapidstrike, Retaliator barrel, or Longstrike barrel.

A few others around the world have made their own versions, this is the first opportunity for USA players to access this style of grip. The grip is available for purchase for $14.99 on their site. However, with the exclusive coupon code “basicnerf”, you’ll get 20% off the total cost of the grip! Click here to view and buy it on the Dorm Labs site.

To read my full review, and to see the video review version of the grip, please check out the rest of the post below.

Blastersmiths UK & BlasterTECH Partner Up For Australian, Asian, & Pacific Distribution

In a recent press release from Blastersmiths UK, they’ve announced that they’ll be teaming up with BlasterTECH in Australia to help distribute the Blastersmiths UK products and items easier and quicker to Australian, Asian, and Pacific Nerfers! Blastersmiths UK is known for their popular items such as the MKIV Drop Leg Holster and their Custom Fabric Nerf Mag Holders.

Check the press release below for more in-depth info. You can expect to start ordering from BlasterTECH November 1st.

Bristol, United Kingdom & Brisbane, Australia

Blastersmiths UK and BlasterTECH today announced a working partnership that they hope
will be benecial to both companies. BlasterTECH is an emergent wiring loom and electrical
modication company based in Brisbane, Australia. They have recently started selling wiring
looms through their website, BlasterTECH.com.au with the aim of lowering the threshold to
entry for the average Nerf modder. Blastersmiths UK already sells an array of un-soldered kits
and 3D printed parts so a trading partnership seemed like the natural step forward for the two
companies.

The two companies first encountered one another through BritNerf.co.uk, the UK’s primary
Nerf forum. Mike, from Blastersmiths UK, and Dean, from BlasterTECH, got chatting around
electrical modication and the potential of selling modied blasters. Regrettably, the regulatory
environments in both the EU and Australia prevent the sale of fully modied blasters on their
own at the commercial level but kits and pre-soldered looms can be sold in the EU and Australia
respectively. BlasterTECH moved forwards with their wiring looms and accepted the oer of
distributor in order to resell 3D printed components and some tactical gear in order to fund
future development.

Australian customers can purchase BlasterTECH wiring looms direct from their website
(www.blastertech.com.au) with immediate effect and from the 1st November 2014 will be able
to access a wider array of Blastersmiths UK products without the risks of international shipping
or the wait that comes with lead times for custom made goods. All Blastersmiths UK products
listed on BlasterTECH.com.au will be available in stock for immediate dispatch in accordance
with BlasterTECH shipping policies.

Looking to the future, the two companies are looking to work closely on further developing kits
and looms for the full range of electronic foam dart blasters, including Nerf’s Elite Demolisher
2-in-1. There is a great deal of untapped potential in the many electronic blasters out there
and the two companies are looking forward to tapping that and bringing new products to the
foam dart blaster marketplace.

Black-Tactical’s Limited Edition Metal Mags/Clips For Nerf Blasters

blacktacticalmetalmag

If your not familiar with Black-Tactical, it’s a tactical gear site based in Singapore. They sell a good variety of high quality tactical gear, including accessories, scopes, sights, stocks, and even Nerf equipment. Which includes blaster kits, springs, epoxy, and more.

One of their latest releases are Metal Mags/Clips for our Nerf blasters. They call it the Aureus Alpha, or “The Golden One”. Check out their details and some of my thoughts on them below.

Version 2.0: Its the same high quality build, now mass produced cheaper!

After intensive R&D, Black-Tactical.com presents the Aureus Alpha, “The Golden One”. A Limited Edition Custom Made Metal Magazine Machined to fit Standard NERF Sockets for Professional NERFers.

Problem:
Arseholes stepping on your plastic mags and breaking them
Standard 6 Round Mags too little ammo
Extended 18 Round Mags are too long and cannot fit any known pouches and cumbersome to handle

Solution:
Metal Machined Body for Crush Resistance
Fits 12 Standard NERF Streamline or Ferdelance Darts
Fits All Standard STANAG M4/M16 or AK47 7.62 Magazine Pouches.
Orange/Gold Safety Colour to conform to most country’s import laws.
100% Anodized inside and out to protect against wear resistance and alu oxidization.
Metal Breach modified guns will benefit from more precise engineering with little or NO movement play when loaded in the magazine well. Allowing more efficient and precise round Feeding & Chambering and thus more accuracy.

Alpha Trooper:
Problem with the stupid Alpha trooper catch is that it is bigger than every other catch, so we favored machining it so that it will fit ALL OTHER magazine wells PERFECTLY with little or no movement play. HOWEVER a nail file on this stupid fat alpha catch solves the problem within seconds.

Thank You:
As part of the NERF community, Black-Tactical.com thank you for your continued support to create more Professional Accessories! For those who understand manufacturing would know that it cost a lot to create this. We are already pricing it as low as we can afford to already, so please buy more!

Kmart Puts Up New N-Strike Elite Version of the Zombie Strike Sidestrike

spin_prod_1092481712

Another day, another recolor am I right?

Kmart’s site has put up a listing of an Elite Version Sidestrike. In case you needed a reminder, the Sidestrike first originated as a Zombie Strike blaster. This Kmart exclusive, 2 Pack version retails for $24.99 on the side, comes with 12 Elite Darts, and lacks the holster that normally comes with the Zombie Strike version of the blaster.

I like how one one blaster is the old Elite color scheme, and the other is the new Elite color scheme though. Probably worth passing on it, unless your a newer player who wants to pick up a simpler blaster for yourself and another.

Nerf Zombie Strike Slingfire & 25 Dart Drum Package Deal From Kohls

1800402
Product Image from Kohls.com

Kohls has recently put up a web listing for a package deal featuring the Zombie Strike Slingfire and the N-Strike Elite Rampage’s 25 Dart Drum. The drum has had some positive feedback from Nerfers for it’s smaller size, and better feeding then the previous Raider’s 35 darm drum.

Although the combo package is welcome, the price is a bit too high for most people’s preference. $59.99, and it’s “on sale” for $47.99 at the moment. For reference, a Slingfire usually retails for $19.99, and a Rampage for $27.99. Those too things combined are already less then this Kohls package, and you get more from buying them separately.

Kohls members who have a membership cards may be able to get this for a lower price, and the price may lower in the future, so don’t entirely discount this package out.

N-Strike Elite XD Line Brings New Standard of Range to Nerf

c80930950a7b02089e45632260d9f2d3562cc871
Rapidstrike Images found on Baidu. You can see the XD distances on the bottom right of the box.

The “Elite XD” branding first appeared on the Elite Demolisher 2-In-1 Blaster box. The XD standing for “Extra Distance” and boasting ranges of up to 90 feet instead of the usual 75 feet ranges of the Elite line. And now according to my public relations contacts at Nerf, the XD distance and branding is here to stay! You can also see XD branded Retaliator, Strongarm, and Stockade (boasting up to 85 feet) below. These blasters, and the Rapidstrike above, also have new paintjobs.

Instagram photos thanks to Foam From Above.

I’m personally on the excited side for these. Normal flat ranges for Elite blasters were 40-50 feet with Elite Darts. Could we 50-60 feet flat with these newly revamped blasters? Stay tuned to my blog for more on that in the future!

Introducing NarrowBase LLC, a New Nerf 3D Fan Printing Company

The header image used on the NarrowBase.com site.

The need of holding 18 or even 12 dart mag holders has been a bit challenge to many Nerfers out there, due to their size and length. Equipment from other sports such as Airsoft and Paintball, while often doing the job, sometimes makings a person uncomfortable or leaves a person lacking in performance. 3D printing, with rising usage in the world, has yet to meet our needs carrying our Nerf mags/clips. Casual users or people not using the MOLLE sytstem were a bit behind in terms of what gear they could use for their items. Until now.
